My name is Carmen Pomares
I am a licensed acupuncturist through the state of California.
I grew up with a mother who introduced me to Chinese medicine (which I thought was crazy at the time). She gave me bitter and sweet herbs to help alleviate my colds and flu’s, and she brought me to a strong martial artist who healed my broken foot within 3 sessions. I was inspired by her and Chinese medicine.
Later I graduated from Academy of Chinese Culture Health and Sciences and obtained my Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine. During school I had the opportunity to study in China and followed the renowned Chinese herbalist Dr. Huang Huang of Nanjing, China.
I am currently employed at another community acupuncture clinic and through that facility I have seen hundreds of patients, giving me more experience than I anticipated after passing my licensure exam. I am forever grateful to my current workplace, my parents, friends, and husband who have helped me get to where I am.
I am also a mother of three. I speak fluent Spanish. I am a current resident of Sonoma County. I love to laugh or smile, read, enjoy any kind of physical activity, breathe, and relax with my amazing family.
Why Community Acupuncture?
In China, most acupuncture and herbal treatments are given in a community setting. Patients are able to come and stay as often as they like. Patients don’t need to get undressed.
Studies show that healing with others in a shared space magnifies the treatments.
Also, due to its affordability, patients are able to get as many treatments as they like, increasing the efficacy of the treatments.
